2-6!

I'm a quarter of a century + 1! Pretty cool, man, pretty cool!

Things have changed in the last few years, I've done plenty of growing up and I'm trying to be the best dude I can be; help out, be kind, spend time with my family, gf, friends and just be happy and live a good life!

And tonight, my Mom and myself and my Aunt and Uncle continue a tradition that my Bro and Uncle Mike laid the groundwork for: Tucker's Buffet! Going to be a good day.

Hanging with my roommates tomorrow and Friday singing Karaoke with my friends at Ace's
(JOSH, if you're reading this: come out Friday!)

Song(s) Of The Week!

Yes, friends, we have a tie this week! Three equally catchy and happy songs:

1A) Lovely, Love My Family: The Roots - A great, positive melody with fantastic lyrics from one of my fave hip hop groups! These guys are great and this tune is from Yo Gabba Gabba - a brilliant kids show!

1B) See Your Sunshine: Paul McCartney - A very nice little love song from the man himself, with lines like, "She makes me feel glad/I'll have to say that I adore her" - beautiful and awesome!

1C) Wonderin': Toby Mac (Feat. Matt Thiessen of Relient K) - Mellow and upbeat in nature. A big fan of RK obviously, and any tune that Matt collaborates on is more often than not heavily listened to by me (See: Terminals by Owl City and Nuisance by John Reuben)

I could do a boatload of these - the last month, I've been borrowing Beatles albums from the Library and seeing Rain only amped up my urge to listen to more Beats! Getting 'With The Beatles' (aka Beatles Second Album) this week as well as 'Hard Day's Night' (hopefully).

It's hard to pick my fave Beatles record - I thought I had it down to 'Please, Please Me', but 'Sgt. Pepper's'(My bro's fave) has got me hooked lately! Why do I have to narrow it down to just one? Not sure, and not sure if I even can! It's fun!

Have you ever wondered...

What you would look like with a moustache? Here's what I look like with one:

Sushi is ichiban (#1)...

in my books! Seriously, it's high on the list of Steve's favorite cuisines right now!

Before dating Katie, I was only privy to Metro-style Sushi (Don't get me wrong, I mean no disrespect to the fine sushi rollers of Metro) but I'd yet to experience restaurant Sushi!

That all changed in November 2008 when Katie (a Sush verteran) and I frequented an establishment and fast foward to now, it's become almost a monthly occurance...we've even tried making our own!

The best all-around is Go Tempura, located on James and Cannon (I think/hope) in Hamilton and they have 3 sweet dragon rolls (which may or may not contain REAL dragon!)

Katie loves the spicy salmon, which is rad. My fancy is the crispy spicy!

Other notes from the weekend...

-First the first time my friends bailing turned out to be a good thing! Katie (who brought me a Slurpee) and I ended up seeing Eclipse! That's right I admit it, and it was good compared to the previous two! While this news may nominate me as king of the lames, I readily will tell anyone as Katie and I had a great time - in the front row, fist-pumps and all! From there we enjoyed Lick's (thank you, coupons) and then a beer at Winking Judge, while pursuing trivia!

-Seeing my nephew, who was being goofy and making me laugh uncontrollably!

-Seeing my Bro, Sister and Mom!

-Doing shirt-stuff with Noel! Fan Expo is fast approaching and a lot of cool things are on the go!

-Exchanging Tweets about comics (2 to be exact, haha) with IC champ - Kofi Kingston!

That's all for me, yo!

Pre B-day fun!

Because Katie is going to be in BC during my actual b-day (7/28) she took me to Toronto for a weekend on the town this weekend, and it was great!

Saturday night we arrive to TO and stayed with Katie's friend, Steph and her beau, Brian. We hung out in their lake-front condo, which was a penthouse, and then headed for a walk near the lake and then a beer on a patio.

Sunday morning started with some chocolate-chip pancakes, and then we headed to Steam Whistle for a tour of their brewery, and then some samples! Was so great how they are loyal to just their brand; won't sell-out and are environmentally conscious and friendly! I urge you to attend this tour which totally emcompases Steam Whistle: informative, unique and awesome!

From there Katie surprised me by taking me to Rain: A Beatles Tribute! To say I was blown away both by the gift and the actual experience itself would be a huge injustice! Words can't describe how stoked I was and how closely they resembled The Beatles themselves. If you are even remotely a fan of The Beatles, you must see this! Great time!

From there, Katie treated me to a delicious burrito and then Katie took one for the team (the Mexican Base-ball Cats) and watched the wrestling ppv with me and some friends! What a trooper, but she can sleep easy tonight knowing I won't make her endure that sort of punishment anymore!

Great day, great day! I seriously love that girl! Not for the gifts she gives me but just how great she is. Awesome!

From brain to blog!

-GREAT weekend! Friday Katie, her friend Vic, Noel and I had dinner, talked shirts and then got drunk and sang some karaoke! My Mom was even there! Saturday saw Noel and I voyage to Toronto to visit our pals Ian and Caroline! We had some more drinks (sorry, liver!) and then sing more karaoke (sorry, throat!)

-Sunday Katie, my Mom and I went to Amanda's parents for Barb's birthday! Swims were swam, chickens were bbq'd (not to be confused with "grilled") and laughs were had - mostly because of my nephew, Michael. Anyone that has spent a second with me since Feb '09 knows I think the world of this little guy, and for good reason! His personality develops ten-fold everytime we hang, and I am simply in awe of how quickly he's growing up! Fresh off of his first hair-cut, Mikey was feeling good. He was feeling confident; so much so he decided to get his groove on next to m'lady! He was flirting with Katie all day and ended the night off with some kisses! Dude works quick, and there is no harm losing out to that little charmer!

-Got to briefly see some old friends, and see some current ones! Sucks we all can't hang as much as we can, but I'm understanding as some weeks whiz by, but that's how it goes!

-Sunday was also my favorite day of the summer: 7/11 day! FREE THUMB SIZED SLURPEES FOR ALL!

-I'm hooked on waffles. Especially those of the chocolate-chipped persuasion

-This weekend Katie is taking me to Toronto in celebration of my upcoming day o' birth, and has a super-top-secret day in store for yours-truly! Truthfully, it could just consist of taking me to get a burritto and I'd be more than happy - I just like being with Katie! Gaaawwww!

-Beatles never cease to amaze me. Always a fan! Picked up some records from the much-frequented library last week (Please, Please Me, White Album, Rubber Soul) All Awesome! PPM has made it's way into my top 5, sitting at #2, behind only What's The Story, Morning Glory by Oasis!

-But I am off to get some "work" done at work - fancy that, eh? Than go see my Mom, eat Mcd's and watch cartoons, laugh and spin with Michael!

But first, some of my current fave songs at the moment:

-Cinderella Man by Eminem (also Talkin' To Myself is great)

-Nobody's Accusing You (Of Having A Good Time) by Hot Hot Heat, who are playing in Hamilton this fall, consider me there!

-Got To Lose by Hollerado

-The Ulterior Motives by Staylefish

Awesome/Inspiring!

An educational tutorial about the Octopus!

http://theoatmeal.com/story/octopus

UPDATE!!!

Here is what is up in the world known as STEVELAND (name pending)! I haven't been updating this lately (sorry handful of people who read this!) but I love writing lately, especially when you have something to write about. Before I fired up this post, I said to myself, "self: shame you didn't write me earlier on, what with your trusty Journalism diploma and all." Truth is, it's not a shame, it's just I've never really had anything to write about (not saying I do now, but I feel as I do)

-Ottawa last week was tremendous! I've never been previously but went with Katie and her friends to see more of her friends. I'm not well versed in politics but it was cool seeing the Parliment building! Their McDonalds also had security - McCrazy! I also had a burger with peanutbutter - unprecendented! Super glad I went!

-Hanging with my Mom and nephew, Mikey once a week for breakfast/playtime is one of my favorite things to do - I love it! We just goof around and play and have fun and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world!

-Tonight Katie, Katie's friend Vic, Noel and myself are going out for a business dinner to discuss shirt biznass, and then proceed to get drunk singing some Karaoke! Stoked! Practicing my Will Smith.

-Then tomorrow Noel and I are going to see Ian and Caroline in TO and sing and drink more - sorry throat and liver!

-Sunday seeing some family and swim! Then maybe visit a Toys 'R' Us function and say hey to some friends! It's also 7/11 - one of my favorite days of the year!

-Saw Toy Story 3, Hot-tub Time Machine, Paper Heart and Fanboys this week. Toy Story was beyond rad - my personal movie of the year so far! Fanboys was also super well done!

That's all for now, friends.
