Lack of blogging recently makes this blog dull...I haven't lost my drive for this, as it has increased my desire to write a billion-fold, just been working/not sleeping weird hours lately.

Afternoon shifts-->night shifts = sleep schedule of a vampire, thus making me feel like a zombie (not as cool as it sounds - although wouldn't a horde/collection/invasion/stable of vampire zombies be off the charts rad? Yes...yes it would!)

Here is a brief itinerary of what's ahead in Stevesville:

-My Mom babysits Mikey every week, and I'm counting the hours till I can blow this popsicle stand (work; not in actuality a popsicle stand...sigh) to visit them and I brought my Ninja Turtles cartoon for me and Mikey to watch! Cowabunga!

-Playing more Earthbound for the SNES! Started playing it this week and it's such a great game right out of the gate! Rented it in 1997, September 1997 to be exact, and while I liked it then I can appreciate it way more now!

-My Uncle Wayne passed away yesterday after battling cancer for two years. I wasn't super close, and I should have tried and visited him more, but I take solace in the fact he is no longer suffering from that terrible ailment. I hope to be able to attend any service that will take place.

-Reading a crap-ton more comics!

-Saturday I am playing host to a Toys 'R' Us reunion par-tay! Really it's just four of my really good friends whom I try to see as much as I can. Should be a fun day full of bbq'ing, drinking, pool and laughs!

-Monday I am driving my Bro to the auto-shop, and then having dinner with said bro and my sis, and Mikey!

-Next Friday (not the movie), June 4th will be my Grandparent's burial. Luckily (and awesome-ly) the plot beside my Uncle Mike was free, therefore they will be together! I am looking at this day not as a bummer-day, but as a celebration of wonderful people whom I'll never forget!

-Skimboarding weather is fast approaching m'friends!

Steve out.

I've seen everything...

Below is a conversation taken from Season 1, Ep. 6 of HBO's Extras with Ricky Gervais (Andy) talking to Patrick Stewart (of Star Trek TNG/X-Men fame)
Classic stuff.

[Andy has come to see Patrick Stewart in his trailer]

Patrick Stewart: I'm writing a screenplay and I find the whole process absolutely exhilarating.

Andy Millman: What's yours about, if you don't mind my asking?

Patrick Stewart: Well, uh - how best to explain it; you've seen me in "X-Men" ...

Andy Millman: Yeah.

Patrick Stewart: The character I am, Professor Charles Xavier, if you remember, he can control things with the power of his mind - can make people do things and see things, so I thought, what if you could do that for real? I mean, not in a comic book world, but in the real world.

Andy Millman: Oh, all right.

Patrick Stewart: So in my film, I play a man who controls the world with his mind.

Andy Millman: Right. Oh, that's interesting.

Patrick Stewart: Yeah. For instance, I'm walking along, and I see this beautiful girl, and I think I'd like to see her naked, and so all her clothes fall off.

Andy Millman: All her - clothes fall off?

Patrick Stewart: Yes, and she's scrabbling around to get them back on again, but even before she can get her knickers on, I've seen everything. Yeah. I've seen it all.

Andy Millman: [pause] Okay. It's a comedy, is it?

Patrick Stewart: No. It's about what would happen, you know, if these things were possible.

Andy Millman: What's the story, though, what's the ...

Patrick Stewart: Well, I do other stuff; like I'm riding my bike in the park, and this policewoman says "Oi! You can't ride your bike on the grass!" and I go "Oh no?" And her uniform falls off, and she goes "Ahh!" and she's trying to cover up, but I've seen everything anyway. And I get on my bike and I ride off. On the grass.

Andy Millman: [increasingly uncomfortable] So it's mainly you sort of go around seeing ladies' tits?

Patrick Stewart: Mainly. And I do other stuff, like I go to the World Cup final, and it's Germany versus England, and I wish that I were playing, and suddenly I am, and I score the winning goal, and they carry me into the dressing room and there's Roony and Beckham and then Posh Spice walks in and ...

Andy Millman: Her clothes fall off?

Patrick Stewart: Instantly.

Andy Millman: Sure.

Patrick Stewart: And she doesn't know what's happening, but I've ...

Patrick Stewart, Andy Millman: [in unison] seen everything.

Andy Millman: [pause] Good. Is there a narrative at all, is there like a story in the film, or is it just ...

Patrick Stewart: Well, I'm a sort of a James Bond figure ...

Andy Millman: Right.

Patrick Stewart: And I have to go to Iraq, to rescue these hostages. And I get there and I rescue them, but they're all women and they're naked because their clothes have rotted off. But I get them into the helicopter, and I'm flying the helicopter, but I can still sneak a look in the mirror and I can see everything, you know. One of them's bending over, two of them are kissing ...

Andy Millman: They've turned lesbian.

Patrick Stewart: Yeah, because they've been in the camp for so long.

Andy Millman: Can happen. Well, look, good luck with that. I've just written a sitcom, but I wonder if you could give it to anyone you know, you know, in film or TV ...

Patrick Stewart: Is there any nudity in it?

Time Flies...

When you're having fun. And when you have a super cool girlfriend and nephew.

Today (18th) marks a year-and-a-half my girlfriend, Katie and I have been together. My longest and certainly happiest relatonship I have been a part of.

And my (not so) little nephew, Mikey, turns 15 months tomorrow (19th). Seeing him grow, learn and interact is something I am always stoked to be a part of.

Two people (among MANY others) I am rediculously blessed to know and have in my life.

Life moves pretty fast, as an 80's icon once delcared. If you stop to look around once in a while, you could miss it.

-alongside Noel and his tots, finalized details for a fundraiser next month! Stoked beyond words!

-hung out with Katie a lot, and was great to see her!

-visited with my Bro and Sister with Katie, and Mikey my neph, who was sound asleep, but still a great time!

-had a delicious pasta dinner and watched It's Complicated with my Mom!

Dragon Gate USA...

was seriously one of the coolest pro wrestling shows I have ever seen live. It was truly an honour seeing these athletes from Japan giving it their all. Blew me away!

If you like wrestling, even just a little, please check these guys out - you will not be dissapointed!

PS - props to my pal Rip Impact who made it on the main show!

Remember the Bat-Tussi?

The 60's Batman and Robin, Adam West and Burt Ward (ironic last name as he played Batman's ward on the show) will be attending Fan Expo this summer in Toronto.

PS - They don't need molded plastic to improve their physique!

PPS - How come Batman doesn't dance anymore???

Great, but forgotten TMNT NES game...

Still no TMNT Arcade game for NES, or Turtles in Time for SNES, which are the holy grail of Turtles games...but still rad!

If this came to pass...

I would want to shower at a minimum of 17 times a day, yet try to make said showers short in length in an effort to still be manly and also aid the environment!

http://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2010/04/how-to-make-showering-awesome-again.html

WTF?

A fitting name for the song/video of this OK GO tune, which one can only assume with the taking of drugs the visuals would be accentuated a billion-fold.

But I give hugs, not drugs and slurpees, not herpes. Therefore, I will enjoy the greatness of this vid as is.

Closing Time...

Two days ago, alongside my Mom and Aunt Shelley, I visited my Grandparents house for the last time.

It was totally empty save for two clocks, a table, two glasses which my Papa used when he consumed his trademark concoction of vodka and five alive, one I took as a souvenir, and some items in the shed which included my old Bart Simpson skateboard, which I broke the back wheels off when I stood on it. Apparently ol' Bart wasn't prepared for the increase in weight since we last met.

It was almost surreal making my last rounds at the house on 164 Simcoe - in a way it didn't seem like the place where I spent almost twenty-six years of my life.

It provided a sense of closure at the end of the day, I guess. Something I still don't want to come to terms with, but such is life.

Despite how much it rattled me, I was glad I went and saw it one last time anyways. What I took away from it was a harsh reality that I would never step foot in that house again. But I also took with me the two and a half decades of awesome times I spent in that house - and my Papa's shot glass, haha!
